Fox Cubs

This Saturday (6 December) a fine selection of up-and-coming indie bands will by stopping by the Half Moon in Bishops Stortford to play Club Blub.

The night will include a headline performance from the increasingly raved-about Reading act Fox Cubs, with support coming from The Stolen Coda, The Summons and Stop Eject.

Named among the "top ten hopes for the future" by NME in August this year, Fox Cubs started life in July 2007 and have already made quite a name for themselves.

During the last 12 months, the band have recorded live sessions for both Radio One and XFM, headlined the Steve Lamacq stage at the 2008 Camden Crawl, performed on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds festivals and played as part of the recent BBC Electric Proms.

Describing the band's live performance in a recent review, NME wrote: "These Berkshire boys have the clean-cut poster boy looks of a band like The Feeling, but mangled with synthy breakdowns that The Killers and Gary Numan would have a rock, paper, scissors match for sole custody of."

Kicking off the night will be Nottingham-based art rockers Stop Eject who have recently released their second EP, 'Cargo Cult Science'.

Following them are Saffron Walden band The Summons, whose contemporary take on old-school rock sounds like Hard-Fi jamming out a Clash cover with Foals.

Performing as main support to Fox Cubs will be The Stolen Coda. Young, brash, immediate and vital, this band play modern rock n blues that takes its lead from the likes of The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. Already a well-established part of the vibrant
Harlow scene, the band have just released their new 'Breakneck Rumba' EP.

Doors will open for the night at 7:30pm and Stop Eject will be the first band onstage at 8:00pm.

Tickets are £6 on the door or £5 (plus 50p booking fee) from www.wegottickets.com
